I hate them.Labels are stereotypes.I'm goth, you're punk,he's pop, she's country.Since when does a single word describe everything you should know about a person? It's different to say that you like the goth culture, you enjoy rock music and outfits, than to describe a person like that.Someone told me to check some trash show on the tv,apparently some "goths" were invited to talk about their culture.Newsflash.Goth now means, you're the long lost brother of Gene Simmons.Apparenty, when you can't see skin behind a mask of makeup, every clothing on you is stolen from the 16th century, and you talk about death and skulls, you're considered goth.
Um.How about no?Don't get me wrong.I've nothing against this type of clothing, hell I love corsets.
But goth, and every other culture isn't just about appearance. It's about beliefs, attitude, interests.
You can't suddenly decide to be something.Once upon a time there were emo kids.Where are they know? The kids that used to try and convince everyone that through their clothing they were expressing their sadness that was eternal. Not so sad anymore, are ya.Or maybe the phase just wore out.Just like anything that's just a phase. And that's what bugs me.Stop trying to label yourself as something, stop trying to be something you are not.
Accept who you are, dress however you like, listen to whatever type of music you want.Don't limit yoursel.
